Panyijiar , which animal is our symbol between Tiger and Leopard or Cheetah ??

I need someone to genuinely clarify this for me. Is our symbol supposed to be a tiger, a cheetah, or a leopard?

If it is a tiger, then how did we end up choosing an animal that does not even exist in South Sudan or anywhere in Africa to represent us? To me, it feels strange for a county or community to identify with a symbol that has no connection to our land or wildlife.

Other states and counties use symbols that reflect their identity and resources for example, Unity State uses an oil rig because of its oil resources. In the same way, shouldn’t our symbol also represent something naturally found in our environment and culture?

Maybe those behind the idea can help explain the history and reasoning. Otherwise, I believe it would make more sense to use animals like the cheetah or leopard, which are actually part of our wildlife and identity instead of a Tiger which is abit confusing .

It saddens me to see so many of our people investing years in courses that have little relevance to our realities. Too many young people graduate with degrees that cannot support them or their families.

Select a field that is relevant to the context you live in something that increases your chances of getting a job or creating your own opportunities in South Sudan.

Imagine spending 4–5 years studying, only to spend the next 10 years unemployed or earning so little that it can’t even solve your basic problems. In such cases, those years might have been better spent learning a skill, starting a small enterprise, or pursuing technical training.

Let’s be honest situations in South Sudan play a role, but sometimes the real issue is that the education we choose is either not relevant, or we fail to learn deeply enough to become valuable in the job market.

For those planning to study, consider technical and vocational courses. They are often more marketable and directly linked to jobs than certain academic degrees. Choose wisely because education is an investment, and every investment should bring returns.
