Kenya Police release Yassir Arman after detention

Sudanese politician Yassir Arman was released by Kenyan authorities after being detained at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta Airport on March 5, 2025.

Arman had been held under an INTERPOL red flag following charges from Sudan authorities, which he maintains are politically motivated.

After brief detention and discussions with Kenyan officials, Arman was allowed to return to a hotel and later had his documents returned.

In a statement, he reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for peace, democracy, and equal citizenship in Sudan, despite the charges.
