He was set to become the first Somali official to referee at a FIFA World Cup match. FIFA confirmed that he will not be able to officiate at the tournament, saying immigration decisions are made by host governments.

BREAKING: University of Northern Bahr el Ghazal renamed University of Aweil

President Salva Kiir has announced while addressing a public rally today in Aweil Town the renaming of the University of Northern Bahr el Ghazal to the University of Aweil. He also directed Parliament to establish it as a public university.

BREAKING: His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit has received a warm welcome upon his arrival in Aweil. This marks another day of the President's Bhar El Ghazal Regional Tour (BRT).

After Wau, Akon (the president's hometown), and Aweil, other parts of the region which have not yet been toured by the president such as Tonj and Rumbek, raised a concerning debate whether the president will also consider visiting these areas.
