🚨 BREAKING: 15-Year-Old South Sudanese Refugee Killed in Gang Retaliation in Uganda

A 15-year-old South Sudanese refugee, identified as Dut Matiop Chol, has been killed in a brutal retaliatory gang attack at Nyumanzi Refugee Settlement in Adjumani District, northern Uganda.

According to Ugandan police, the incident occurred on Friday evening, April 24, 2026, at around 8:00 PM in Block E, Cluster 5, Egge Village, Ajugopi Parish.

Authorities say the teenager was allegedly linked to a group known as “Clean Heart Niggas,” which is associated with another group called “Black Warriors.” The attack was reportedly carried out by rival members of the “44 Slime Gang Group.”

Police spokesperson SP Collins Asea confirmed that the attackers used sharp machetes, believed to have been stolen from a shop in Nyumanzi Trading Centre, to assault the victim. He sustained multiple deep cuts to the head and died instantly at the scene.

The shocking killing has raised fresh concerns over rising gang violence within refugee settlements, with community leaders calling for urgent action to protect young people.
