SSSNMC Independence Message:

On this 12th Independence Anniversary of our beloved Nation, South Sudan, the leadership of South Sudan National Movement For Change-SSNMC is delighted to share the message of joy and relative peace we are experiencing as a Nation. Despite the fact that there are still some isolated cases of violence in some parts of the country, it's important to recognise and appreciate every little success story we have been registering amidst turbulence, economic crisis, overwhelming security situations as a result of regional instability. As we are all aware, we have come a long way from total darkness to the little light visible to our lenses again.
We must learn the spirit of recognition and appreciation for every positive step registered in our history books.

On the occasion of this 12th Independence Anniversary, it presents us with the opportunity to remind ourselves as leaders and stakeholders of the country of the promises we have made to people and how we have collectively failed to deliver to the people of South Sudan. Remember, leadership is responsibility, accountability, and the ability to covert weaknesses and suffering of the people into strength and hope.

Leadership is positive energy and courage extended to the people. It is NEVER about oneself as is taken in our case.
By taking responsibility for the failure and being accountable to our people, we find another opportunity to restart again and forge a new way forward with renewed faith and momentum gained through the very people we lead.

Today, we must accept the fact that our country is at a crossroads. The only viable option we are left with is to accept the full responsibility and ask for forgiveness from our people for all emotional torture, deceptions, suffering, and state of irresponsibility we have taken them through since that famous attainment of our Independence.

It is upon then shall we regain the trust and confidence of our people to renew our spirit of good governance, responsibility, and service delivery. That is the only opportunity to free ourselves from guilt, failure, and being inconsiderate from all previous leadership attempts.

The leadership call on the Government of National Unity, voluntary South Sudanese, and all partners to continue with joint efforts geared towards helping many of the returnees who are still stuck in renk and other parts of Upper Nile to be resettled safely to their homes and meet their loved ones.
The Government of National Unity should also use this opportunity to renew the faith and momentum for successful implementation of R-ARCSS in the letter and spirit of the agreement.

Happy 12th Independence Anniversary to all South Sudanese across the world.

It's difficult to come to terms with this sad reality but God's decision for giving and retaking back life is solely his.

In this grievous moment, I convey my condolences and sympathies to the family of Gen. Makur Kulang Liei for the loss of this young and vibrant life.
Rest in peace Muojok Makur Kulang!
