Correct.

And he doesn’t owe you marriage.

He doesn’t owe you loyalty while you turn him into a roommate.

He doesn’t owe you unlimited wifey benefits while you publicly shame him and privately deprive him.

Marriage is created as a complementary legal agreement, but both parties have a part to play.
