Tragedy Strikes Gok-Machar: Two Accidents Claim Lives of Three Boys

Gok-Machar, Aweil North County - A devastating night unfolded in Gok-Machar, where two separate accidents claimed the lives of three young boys and left one person seriously injured. The victims, all cousin-brothers, were struck by a speeding truck while crossing the road at around 8:30 pm, returning from a visit to their aunt's house. The deceased were taken to hospital by passersby, where they succumbed to their injuries.

The driver and his assistant fled the scene, but the assistant later surrendered to authorities and is under investigation at Gok-Machar police station. In a separate incident near the junction, another person was seriously injured and rushed to Aweil for medical treatment.

The community is in shock and mourning, with condolences pouring in for the bereaved families. Our thoughts are with the injured, wishing him a speedy recovery 🙏. We will ll update with more details as they are available.
