U.S. warns travelers: child support debt can affect your passport
The U.S. State Department says citizens who owe over $2,500 in child support may have their passports denied or revoked until the debt is cleared.
Those affected must pay through their state agency, and processing updates can take 2–3 weeks.

CTSAMVM has warned that South Sudan's security situation remains fragile and unpredictable despite ongoing peace efforts.

During a meeting in Juba, Chairperson Maj. Gen. Teshome Anagawe Ayana highlighted several security incidents, including civilian killings, attacks on construction workers, and clashes involving SSPDF and SPLM/A-IO forces.

The ceasefire monitoring body says these incidents demonstrate the need for stronger confidence-building measures and greater commitment by all parties to the Revitalized Peace Agreement.

CTSAMVM also welcomed the SSPDF leadership's recent reaffirmation of commitment to the peace process and called on all signatories to fully respect the permanent ceasefire.

Experts Push for Practical Solutions to End South Sudan’s Prolonged Transition

The Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS), with support from United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) , has launched a three-day workshop in Juba to assess South Sudan’s peace process and explore pathways toward sustainable peace, democratic governance, and a successful transition.

Speaking at the event, Dr. John G*i Yoh called for realistic solutions to address challenges delaying the implementation of the peace agreement and help the country move beyond repeated extensions of the transitional period.

Graham Maitland noted progress in reducing large-scale violence but emphasized that key tasks—including constitution-making, security reforms, governance reforms, and election preparations—remain unfinished ahead of the planned December 2026 elections.

Meanwhile, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas urged stakeholders to embrace dialogue, maintain peace, and work toward credible elections that reflect the aspirations of the South Sudanese people.
