Damascus is the capital of Syria. It is also the oldest inhabited capital in the world. People have lived here for thousands of years without stopping.
Many people call Damascus "The Jasmine City" because jasmine flowers grow everywhere. In spring and summer, the smell of jasmine fills the streets.
The climate in Damascus is beautiful. Summers are warm and dry. Winters are cold and sometimes snowy.
Damascus is a wonderful place for tourism and shopping. You can walk through old streets that feel like a living museum.
In the old souks, you will find everything. Spices, perfumes, handmade soap, silk fabric, and sweets. The sellers are friendly and welcoming.
Damascus is not just a city. It is a feeling. It is warm, generous, and full of life.
