After years since the first edition, I decided to completely revise this book with updated content, new photographs, and a redesigned layout.

Adiantum capillus-veneris has naturalized in my garden, but keeping it alive in a pot is challenging. Its creeping rhizomes and shallow roots are better suited to spreading across the rock surface than to life in a container.
