E-waste has been lingering in our piles of trash for centuries. But what is it? E-Waste, also known as electronic waste, are electronics that are trashed for no longer working or , like batteries, have reached the end of their life span. Factors that cause E-waste also include the improvement in technology, causing outdated devices to be thrown away. But the main problem is the fact that it harms the environment and human health. The problem is caused by the toxic chemicals embedded in the E-wastes leaking out into the soils in the landfills. The chemicals also get released into the air and water. If the water is consumed or the air is being breathed, then the chemicals can potentially cause inflammation, stress, and heart disease. At even higher concentrations, the chemicals could also damage to the DNA which causes mutation or , more commonly known, cancer. However there are solutions that gradually help minimize this problem. The small scale solution would be for every individual to consume less electronic products. Instead of using batteries that are being thrown away every few months, we can use Energizer's rechargeable batteries. The communities can also contribute by sorting trash properly so the electronics can be recycled properly. If everyone is able to contribute a bit then on average, it will impact the larger scale by a lot. Therefore we hope you consider this problem and recycle E-wastes properly in order to help our ecosystems and humans have a better environment.

Last week's canvas bag sale with the Red Cross club was a great success. We were able to raise 3500 baht for the Father Ray Foundation in ONE DAY of sales, thanks to you guys. Over 40 bags were sold to elated students and teachers. Keep an eye on this page for more information about when we're selling more bags. We, the students behind the Project Greenify committee would like to thank everybody who came out and support a good cause.

HEY THERE! The cold and chilly breeze isn't the only thing approaching this week, because believe it or not, OUR BINS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFULLY MANUFACTURED AND PLACED ON CAMPUS! After months and months of planning and finalizing, our anticipated bins will finally be positioned at different spots on the spacious RIS campus very soon. As stated before, the bins are separated into three categories: plastic, paper, and others, so please don't mix things up and throw different items in the wrong place!
We will keep you posted on updates as to where the bins will be specifically placed shortly! Do the right thing for you and for the earth, because saving the earth ultimately means saving yourself!
