RIMES, through the UK-Bangladesh Hydromet Partnership and the RIMES-BBC Media Action BRIDGES initiative, brought together 77 representatives from government, NGOs, media, and community groups to strengthen seasonal climate preparedness in southwestern Bangladesh.

The session provided a platform to:
✓ Disseminate the winter climate outlook and explain forecasting concepts
✓ Facilitate direct interaction between forecasters and sectoral users to review the Summer Monsoon and plan for the Winter season.
✓ Seek critical feedback on the new Daily Weather Forecast Bulletin to ensure it is clear, accessible, and actionable for everyone.
✓ Share results and best practices from ongoing initiatives such as the FARRM School and the National Livestock Advisory System (NLAS)

From 24 - 28 November 2025, the South Asia Hydromet Forum (SAHF) is convening National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), key user agencies, and development partners to co-develop a Regional IBF Framework and Toolkit for temperature-related hazards. This workshop will also shape guidelines for national demonstration projects and support countries in drafting IBF workplans that integrate MEL, GEDSI, and risk management principles.

Supported by the UK Met Office through the WISER Programme, funded by the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), this workshop forms part of the SAHF IBF Project, an initiative designed to drive transformational change in regional capacity to provide IBF and early warning services for temperature-related hazards.

This initiative marks a significant step toward enhancing climate resilience and better protecting lives and livelihoods across South Asia. Stay tuned for more updates!
