Five “Vision” statement of the “Knowledge sharing group”.
1. .To create a world class knowledge-sharing culture and environment that contributes to Accenture's success”
2. It is continuously filling the gaps of what it does not know through its knowledge management processes and strategies which are tailored to advance the business lines of the department;
3. As a model knowledge organization; and as a leader, facilitator and partner, responding to national and international trends and opportunities.
4. .To connects people, work smarter and gets results. This includes accessing and leveraging worldwide development knowledge; generating new intellectual capital; and continuously learning from their activities.
5. The focus of our knowledge deliveries is to harness the global knowledge with appropriate external sources and to ensure that the focused value of our knowledge is brought to bear on the firm’s service delivery
Note; We will instill a more regular approach of sharing knowledge and ideas as central to the way the new does business.
Five” Missions” Can Take to Increase Knowledge Sharing Group.
There are five actions that organizations can take to increase knowledge sharing. Each approaches knowledge sharing from a very different direction and in that sense each adds something unique to the mix. They are not just five different ways to do the same thing; on the other hand, there are many different ways to do each of the five actions.
1. Help people build relationships with each other
• Social events build relationship. In every culture breaking bread together is used to connect people.
• Meetings are great opportunities to build relationships – IF at least a third of every meeting puts members in small groups of three or four to work on issues that matter to them.
2. Build Knowledge Sharing Processes into the Workflow
People will share informally if they are in relationship with each other.
• But it greatly increases the flow of knowledge if there are knowledge sharing process that become a part of the way the organization gets its work done.
• Communities of Practice should be included in process here as well as in relationship building. Here are a couple more:
3. Design Physical Space that Encourages Conversation
• I know it may seem odd to be talking about physical space in a time when we are increasingly virtual, but despite our virtual work we do work in the physical space of offices and how those spaces are designed impacts who and how much we share knowledge with each other.
4. Deliver an Actionable Leadership Message About Knowledge Sharing
It is very helpful for the leadership of an organization to verbalize the organization’s need and intent to share knowledge
5. Develop and Then Practice Conversation Skills
For most conversations our skills are “good enough” but when people are trying to draw out tacit knowledge, more sophisticated skills produce deeper insights.
Summary
Five actions are a lot to do yet I think each is necessary. Taken together they cover most aspects of our organizational life, the culture we design for ourselves, how we get our work done, how we relate to our colleagues, and how we talk to each other.
