BDMS Introduces Advanced Proton Therapy, Becoming a “Global Destination for the Next Generation of Advanced Cancer Care.”
Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (BDMS), led by Dr. Poramaporn Prasarttong-Osoth, President and Senior CEO Group 1 of BDMS held a press conference to announce the launch of the 'Bangkok Proton Center.' The center aims to elevate cancer treatment with Proton Therapy technology, positioning BDMS as a “Global Destination for the Next Generation of Advanced Cancer Care.” The announcement also included a strategic partnership with Medical Excellence Japan (MEJ) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) supported by the Government of Japan. His Excellency Masato Otaka, Ambassador of Japan to Thailand, attended the event to deliver congratulation speech.
Dr. Matinee Maipang, CEO Group 1 and Director of Bangkok Hospital, together with Visiting Prof. Dr. Thiravud Khuhaprema, Director of Watthanoth Cancer Hospital joined in signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with key strategic partners, including, Dr. Kenji Shibuya, CEO of MEJ and Dr. Manani Uechi, Director of Health Services of ERIA. The collaboration focuses on advancing proton therapy technology within Thailand’s private healthcare sector.
With international standards in place, the Bangkok Proton Center will provide precise treatments with less side effects and reduced recovery time while ultimately improving the quality of life for both Thai and international cancer patients. The center is expected to open in 2029, and we look forward to welcoming patients to a new era of hope and healing.
