Ubon Hash House Harriers

Last Saturday 20 hardy Hashers braved the heat for UH3 Run 188. We started in a dry pond in Na Dun Noi and then walked village tracks, through a temple, back roads, with cows, buffalo and numerous dogs, forest and jungle tracks, finally across rice paddies returning to our start point. A total of 6km, with 2 well deserved beer stops thrown in. Back at our starting point we had a lively circle. It was great to welcome 4 virgin hashers. Nick Hazel from Ubon, his Sister in Law Sasi from UK, Bob Bayless and partner Emily from Warin Chamrap. We were excited to welcome back to Ubon, BJ Surprise aka Nam Jensen and husband Soren, and their friend Kenneth. I was able to name a few Hashers. After recently returning to Hashing Trond Hansen was named "Better late than Never" seeing as he first hashed 11 years ago and neverhad a Hash name. Paul Sanders was name"The Colonel" with wife Lee named, "Finger Licking Good." Nok Montanut was named "Angry Bird" as her Mother says she has a bad temper. "The Colonel" celebrated his 58th Birthday with us. Our youngest Hasher Me You bravely walked the first leg with Grandfather "Global Walker" before riding in the Beer Wagon. It was great to welcome back "Noelsinsideher" aka Prim who walked her first time since her knee surgery. Thanks to all who braved the heat for making it a great day. The new UH3 shirt was well received. Our original order grew fom 25 to 30 and eventually 37 shirts ordered which all sold out. I will place another order this week to be available for the Christmas Bar Crawl December 20th. I already have 5 orders. We need 10 more before the supplier will make them. If you want to order contact me personally, by Friday 12th with your preferred size. Cost will be 200 baht for sizes XS, S, M and L. Add 10 baht for each size increase up to 250 baht for 5XL.

Yesterday, despite the threat of heavy rain, and missing several regulars, with work commitments, or away on vacation, 23 dedicated Hashers turned out for UH3 Run 182. We were able to welcome "Virgin Hasher" Manee. Hares MLS and Cherry Picker laid a trail in the Huay Wang Nong area. This gave Hashers a chance to see the lake full, and free of weeds. Despite having to negotiate diggers, trucks and men laying concrete roads, we were able to successfully finish a 6.5 km Hash, without getting wet.
