Now here is a trick.
Eğ- means to bend. Add -it, the causative suffix, and you get eğit-. To cause to bend.
Historically eğitim does not actually come from eğ-. But the connection works so well it almost does not matter.
Education is bending. Shaping. Making a mind flexible.
