Hi there
I have got to the point with my scratch built Hawker Fury where I need to put it on the 'back burner' !

The reason being is that I need to make a decision whether I build the Kestrel engine....or not! If I decide to go ahead with attempting to build it , then I will have to contemplate how I will go about achieving it!
I took a trip to Cosford RAF museum last year and got permission to crawl around the Kestrel engine they have on display there and took many photos. .....so I have a start! What I'll need to do is have a think of what materials to use and then start experimenting.
I have scratch built engines for several models in the past but this one is a practically difficult one to do.😟
So it will take time.
Because I never use 3d printing etc.....and just use my mk 1 eye balls and study photos and build what I see ..its possible that I might find the task beyond my capabilities (I hope not!)....but if I do...then I will make cowling covers to cover the nose area ,minus the engine.
The photo of the Fury is what I am trying to achieve...except mine will have the bottom wing attached!....what do you think?

So while I take some time out from the 'Fury' build ,I am going to detail up an E type Jaguar kit that I have....just for a nice change!🙂

REMOVEABLE PANELS

Hi there.....I've always said right from the start of this project that I would try to make removable panels.....oh dear!....it took me a long time on how to make them actually stay secure in place and easy enough to take off!
Well after a lot of thought and a lot of cussing ,as it was trial and error all the way along... I finally did it!
The panels were made from Coca Cola tin aluminium and I placed small pieces of plastic coated electrical wire that gripped the fuselage frame work...which seemed to hold the panels in place!
I guess I'm reasonably happy with the end result...what do you think?

ADDING THE VICKERS E GUN BARRELS TO THE FUSELAGE.....

Here we have the MGs gun barrels scratch built and in place. Hopefully you can see that they were made from two pieces of plastic sprue and a piece of aluminium for the muzzle brake...reasonably simple procedure...ish!! 😕

THE SUTTON HARNESS

Hi there everyone!
Here's the next post on this what will be a never ending project I have taken on!
The Sutton Harness for the pilot is more complicated as it seems! After studying loads of photos I had a go at it! The first photo shows the material I used and that is ...cuttings of aluminium from a Coca Cola can and fuse wire. The straps were made from the aluminium and the buckles from wire. The eyelets were achieved by tiny amounts of layered PVA glue.....I'm quite happy with the out come!
