Do you need your document edited, but don't quite know where to start? 😭

Well, fear not! After reading this post, you'll understand the difference between some confusing terminology: Content Editing vs Copyediting. 🤩

Let's get started! 👌

When reviewing and finalising your document, it is important to know what kind of editing service you will need.

If your document is in its rough initial stages, such as a first draft, engaging content editing services will be incredibly useful in improving logic and flow. It involves rearranging paragraphs, inputting new information, and elevating the language and tone of your document to appeal to your target audience.

Copyediting is done after content editing is completed. It analyses your work on a sentence-by-sentence basis to ensure each sentence is clear, concise, and accurately relays your message to the reader.

This post provides some sample text that has been copyedited, and edited, so feel free to read them if you need some practical examples. 👌

So, how do you feel? Do you understand these different types of editing services a little better now?

If you still need further assistance, Express Editing offers FREE Consultations via email, so you can choose the editing service that best fits your needs.

THE TRIPLE PLANETARY CRISIS

The Triple Planetary Crisis is a term coined to describe the three major issues affecting human existence currently: Climate Change, Biodiversity Loss and Air Pollution. These issues are interlinked and need to be addressed to ensure survival on our planet in the future.

Climate change is naturally occurring, but in recent decades has been primarily driven by human activities, particularly energy use in industries, transport, buildings and agriculture. Climate change refers to the "long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns", which can make our planet uninhabitable by worsening the frequency and intensity of storms, droughts, flooding, food insecurity and biodiversity loss.

Alarming statistics show that "seven million people dying prematurely each year due to pollution, while nine out of ten people worldwide breathe air that contains levels of pollutants that exceed WHO guidelines”. Air pollution can be from natural sources, like wildfires and volcanic eruptions, or human activities, like industries or traffic.

Biodiversity loss is another major concern for our planet's future and encompasses species loss, habitat loss and overfishing, as a result of deforestation and desertification due to climate change.

The elements of the Triple Planetary Crisis are linked, but are all driven by climate change. It is up to us, collectively as inhabitants of this planet, to take action to reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases and to reduce the effects of climate change.

Barriers and Drivers for RE Implementation in T&T 05/04/2023

The world is facing a climate emergency, and Trinidad and Tobago is in no way immune to these far-reaching consequences of climate change and global warming.

Our country is a Small Island Developing State (SIDS). SIDS have been recorded as being disproportionately affected by climate change. We produce the smallest cumulative percentage of greenhouse gas emissions, yet we experience natural hazards like coastal flooding and erosion and rising temperatures at a higher frequency than larger countries with incredible emissions.

Renewable energy integration is a viable means of reducing our emissions and taking responsibility in helping mitigate the effects of climate change.

This is the focus of my Master's thesis and data gathering from citizens of Trinidad and Tobago is a crucial part of completing this study. Obtaining data on the views and opinions of our citizens is necessary for our country to move forward with effective policies and incentives that are most appealing and appreciated by the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. We all need to be willing and ready for the changing future, and this study will help enable that willingness.

World Environment Day is celebrated annually on the 5th of June and aims at encouraging environmental awareness and public outreach.

Our earth is currently battling climate change, habitat destruction and species loss, as well as unprecedented levels of marine, land, and air pollution.

The campaign "calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet".

It's up to us, as individuals and as nations, to do our part to tackle the threats against our planet.

Creating more sustainable lifestyles, reducing plastic use, and making better purchasing decisions are great ways to get started.

We have so let's protect it!
