Two female passengers lost their lives, and several others sustained critical injuries in a fatal road crash along the Iganga-Mbale highway in Namutumba district.

DEATH IN NAMISINDWA 🥲🥲🥲

Residents of Bukitongo Village, Butemulani Parish, Bumwoni Subcounty in Namisindwa District were left in shock after Rogers Kuremu allegedly beheaded his wife, Nerima Sharon, during a domestic dispute.

According to eyewitnesses, the horrific incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Tuesday. The couple had just finished supper when an argument erupted. Kuremu reportedly grabbed a hoe and used it to brutally decapitate his wife.

Local authorities confirmed that the couple had a history of marital strife. Nerima had left Kuremu a year ago due to ongoing conflicts but had recently returned hlov a decision that tragically cost her life.

According to Khaukha Michael, the LC3 Chairman of Bumwoni Subcounty, stated that the couple frequently quarreled.

"The deceased had left her husband a year ago, but when she returned, Kuremu accused her of being in love with another man. This accusation sparked the violent altercation that led to her death," Khaukha said.

He emphasized the need for community sensitization on conflict resolution and better support systems for families in crisis.

After committing the gruesome act, Kuremu fled the scene, and his whereabouts remain unknown. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect and urge anyone with information to come forward.

The couple leaves behind five children, now orphaned and in urgent need of support.

The body has been taken to Mbale city Mortuary for a postmortem examination, while authorities work on assisting the bereaved children.
