‎I NEVER CHOSE THIS TITLE
‎
‎I never chose this label, it was thrust upon me,
‎A title given by default; against my will, it seems.
‎My leaders chose it for me, without my consent of voice,
‎Now it marks me as vulnerable—a target for cruel choice.
‎
‎Foreigners judge me, criticize me, without understanding,
‎Questioning my worth, my family, my background, my standing.
‎Rich kids, with privileged lives, mock my circumstances;
‎They do not know the struggles, the hardships, the resilience.
‎
‎I am a child of nobody, a refugee without a home, I've never tasted the luxuries they take for granted, unknown.
‎No KFC, no pizza—just master beans to eat, One set of clothes, no shoes upon my feet.
‎
‎I walk to school with feet that ache,
‎No transportation, no comfort—just the road I take.I combine four subjects in one booklet, just to learn,No resources, no support—just determination to yearn.
‎
‎I've lost my identity in seeking refuge and aid.
‎I never chose to be a refugee, with a life displaced.
‎I am more than this title, more than this label, I say;
‎I am a child with dreams, with hopes, with a future to shape.
‎
‎Yet still, I am judged, criticized, made to feel small, My worth measured by my circumstances, by every fall.
‎All because my leaders chose war over peace, Injustice over freedom, suffering over release.

This afternoon, the Academic Pathways Initiative (API) is honored to be at Eden Junior School for a special Mentorship Program dedicated to the Candidate Class.

As our candidates prepare for their forthcoming final examinations, we believe success begins with the right mindset, proper preparation, and constant encouragement. Together, we'll inspire confidence, share practical strategies, and remind every student that their dreams are within reach.

Meet the dedicated leadership team behind the Academic Pathways Initiative (API), a group of passionate individuals united by a shared commitment to expanding access to education, mentorship, and opportunities for young people.

From left to right: Angeer Suzan serves as the Treasurer, Stephen G*i as the Chairperson, Ayen Monica as the Public Relations Officer, Makuei Jacob as the Vice Chairperson, and Loong John as the Programs Coordinator (Project Manager). Each member plays a vital role in advancing the Initiative's mission and serving the community with dedication.
