Please note that The Lavender Shop/Farm will be closing at 2pm today following our Lavender Distillation Demonstration.
🐝Just extracted 80 pounds of honey! I'll let it sit for a couple of days, then bottle up this liquid gold. Starting July 14th, it will be available for purchase right here on the farm at Rustic Roots Lavender, 16199 Rust Hollow Road, Abingdon, VA. Come by and get your fresh, local honey!💜
A little halter training for the mini Highland cows this evening—imagine 700-pound puppies learning their manners! Tonight we worked on standing still until released, even though they were eager to get to the run in for their evening feed and minerals. Every day they’re getting a little better (and a little cuter)! 🐄❤️

🐮 🐴 🐐 🐑 We had the honor of welcoming Pam, Katie, Jim, and Steve from Tennessee in becoming the first four members of our Wrangler Club Mini Farm Animal Experience! This wonderful group dove right into hands-on learning, mastering proper feeding techniques for livestock, grooming and basic care routines, and safe, respectful ways to interact with our animals. They also gained valuable insight into animal behavior within their natural environment, making every moment meaningful and practical.
Working directly with our mini farm animals, they embraced the real-world skills that make farm life so rewarding. We’re grateful for the enthusiasm, kindness, and connection shared throughout the visit—thank you for making memories with us and for your heartfelt participation! 💜
