🌳🌳🌳 CALL FOR BONSAI…

Hidden Lake Gardens is honored to host the inaugural Fall Fruit & Foliage Bonsai Exhibition this October 17 & 18, 2026 in collaboration with the North American Bonsai Federation.

Bonsai artists are invited to showcase their work in one of Michigan’s most beautiful botanical settings. Applications can be submitted for consideration by July 1 at:

We are honored to welcome internationally renowned bonsai master Suthin Sukosolvisit as guest artist and judge. Awards will be presented, and the event will feature vendors, workshops, and presentations throughout the weekend.

This premier event promises to be a destination event and one not to be missed!

As of November 6, 2025, the Bonsai Courtyard at Hidden Lake Gardens is officially closed for the season. We look forward to welcoming you back in late April 2026!

As the 2025 bonsai season draws to a close, we’re celebrating a year of growth, connection, and inspiration. This collection continues to grow and thrive as a result of the support of the Jack Wikle Bonsai Legacy Fund along with the dedication of our staff, volunteers, donors, and visitors. Thank you for being part of this journey and making this season one to remember.

🌴The addition of vibrant tropical bonsai in the Conservatory
🖼️ A refreshed gallery space for The Art of Bonsai exhibit
💐 A touching tribute to longtime volunteer and friend to HLG, Trudy Bulkley
🌳 New bonsai acquisitions and statewide outreach
🏯 Courtyard enhancements, including a gazebo and benches
💝 Generous donations from Green Witch Gardens and the Bulkley family
🛠️ A new lift tool making bonsai care safer and more efficient
