Neptune Maps

Sneak peek of my newest custom map of the Bolinas area, Northern California, snapped before traveling to her new home here in the East Bay.

Bolinas is a gorgeous little gem of a town known for its reclusive, artistic population.

One story says the Coast Miwok called this land “Bali-N” before the Spanish erased existing native culture— anyone out there know whether that’s true?

I wonder what Bali-N means, and appreciate that these sounds are still present in the place name we use.

My client Sarah valued the underwater shapes of the reef, so this was the center of the framed piece.

I closed out 2023 with this sweet East Bay mini map of my very own neighborhood, made as a gift for our neighbor across the street.

This is a vintage city map of Berkeley/Oakland/Emeryville, complete with old school names (I mean the school campuses literally have different names) and 1980s cartography hues and typography.

Wishing each of us a restful, cozy restart to a new calendar year. Grateful for this roof over my head, and the brave hearts up and down my city block.
