Community outreach is often the first time someone learns about 211 services. It gives people a chance to ask questions, learn what support exists, and connect with local help in a low-pressure setting.

At events across Oregon this spring, our team answered questions about housing, food, childcare, financial assistance, transportation, caregiving support, and more.

We also help providers and community-based organizations learn how to best use 211 on behalf of their clients.

Did you know that when you contact 211, you can ask if a service is accessible for your specific needs?

Our resource listings include details that make it easier to get help, like wheelchair access, virtual options, parking information, and more.

If you’re an agency in our database, the more complete your listing, the easier it is for people to find services that work for them and for your programs to reach more people.

To add or update your 211info listing accessibility details, check out the how-to guide on our website at 211info.org/give-help/provider-tools, or email us at [email protected] and we’ll do it for you!

For help finding resources in your area, call 211, text your zip to 898211, email [email protected], or visit 211info.org. We’re here to help!

It’s Global Accessibility Awareness Day–an important moment to pause and consider how accessible your everyday experiences really are based on your unique needs, from websites and tools to healthcare and support services.

While access may feel seamless for some, for others it can take additional time, effort, or support. Raising awareness is an important step, but continuing to improve access is the goal.

At the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace, we’re committed to advancing accessibility and equity in how people access coverage, care, and information—so that everyone can get the support they need.
