Our Founder

Native to New Mexico, John Benjamin Montaño-Austin was born in Española in the early 60’s. Raised in Taos, in a Restaurant Family, he learned early the Art of Hospitality. In the late 70’s, John went to live with his dad’s sister in Hampton, VA and finished High School at Phoebus High, Class of ‘80. Having grown up with the Taoseños of the Class of ‘80, he shares many memories from younger days growing up in Taos. Having re-located to Hampton his Junior Year, John also shares many high school memories from Phoebus High School, Class of ‘80.

Born-again in Wyandotte, OK in 1983 , in an old-fashioned Pentecostal, Holy Ghost Revival, John pursued his Biblical Studies both in the US and abroad. In 1984 he entered Jimmy Swaggart Bible College, in Baton Rouge, LA, as one of the very first students, and completed an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies and later, in 2001, was ordained by the Reverend himself, Pastor Jimmy Swaggart in the 4th of July Campmeeting. In 1985 John studied abroad at Continental Bible College (now Seminary) in Brussels, Belgium, a ministry of the Assemblies of God Church, Springfield, MO. He also served as Singles Pastor at Gallup First Assembly of God, Gallup, NM, from 1986-87, known as “Agape Ministries”.
