My new therapy client has an interesting issue that reminded me of in some ways. I’m getting with his therapy…
I worked part time door dashing while I was writing my book. It was a great job for what I needed at the time as I could listen to and contemplate my research for my book while I was driving around.
For the past few months I had the luxury of focusing entirely on my business, but I interviewed for a part time job the other day and (after providing the context of my history of disability) flat out told them that I wrote a book about psychedelics, facilitate ceremonies, and that I’m attempting to host mushroom retreats in Mexico.
It was silent for a few seconds while they looked at each other. Figured I was about to be told to get lost 😂 Then they were like oh we gotta introduce you to so and so.
Got the job. Start at 7am tomorrow.
Guess the stigma is indeed fading.
Side note: I was disappointed to learn that their “Joint Health Safety Committee” is not, in fact, about joint health 😂😂😂
