Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the Lehigh Valley region

We are watching the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms to develop late this afternoon and evening across the Lehigh Valley and Philly regions. Storms have the potential to produce strong damaging winds, hail, frequent cloud to ground lightning and heavy downpours. Lastest mesoscale discussion has a 60% chance of a severe thunderstorm watch being issued. We believe that a watch will eventually be issued later this afternoon across the region. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region under Enhanced risk for stronger storms to develop. If you are located in the orange area on the first map you are more likely to see stronger storms later today. Please be on the look out for severe thunderstorms to develop later this afternoon and evening.

Potential for strong to severe thunderstorms early this evening. All storms that move through will have the potential for frequent cloud to ground lightning and strong winds. Heavy downpours will also be associated with all storms. The whole region is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.
