We are OVER the limit on our card, and Franklin decided he has a head tilt, facial paralysis, loss of balance, and a fever

Franklin is one of our longest sanctuary rabbits, he has extreme dental disease and gets his teeth done regularly. I am SURE there is something going on in that beautiful deformed head of his, and there isn't a way to know without a CT Scan🫠

We literally do not have the money for this at all. But Frank is wobbly and sick. He needs help. Meghan has been giving him all the medications and care to keep him comfortable while we wait for his appointment. We have him booked for TOMORROW and EVH finally just sent us the estimate.

Rey is a hospice sanctuary girl, with a head full of abscesses, who was rescued from a rescue who never even considered vetting their rabbits🫠

Rey was never spayed, so she likely has uterine cancer as well. She's on two antibiotics and pain meds and an anti inflammatory to keep her comfortable and manage the growths

In July of 2019, I responded to a Facebook post from Tori about picking up a stray bunny she caught.

What no one knew at the time, is that that little bunny, with all 10 of her babies on board, would be the first and founding bunny of something huge.

Fast forward to today, July 10, 2026, and Tösen will leave this plane today, but she leaves a legacy not a lot of bunnies can claim:

Because of Tösen, hundreds of rabbits have been rescued. Literal hundreds. Because of Tösen, Hay Monsters Rabbit Sanctuary was founded officially in January 2020. She will meet all the Monsters we have lost along the way, where I am sure she will be greeted with so much gratitude- from the bunnies who were taken out of horrific situations, the bunnies we had to kindly help cross, and those who got to live many happy years safe from the abuse they suffered.

HampyDamps over here didnt get neutered monday like he was supposed to.

The vet said he looks great, we can stop all his meds. He got his rhdv2 booster and he is ready for neuter.

I, however, was not even close to ready.

Losing Norman a week before Tosens crash out Sunday, I was like hey so I may pass away from stress if I have to do a post op on a senior bun right now.

I am sure Hamper doesn't have a complaint that he gets to keep his balls an extra week.

Anyway we are still fundraising for her surgery and we have about a hundred bucks left before he is covered!

Tösen is fighting, yall. If they fight we fight. Since the founding of this rescue, because of her, we said from the start. Give us the bad ones. Give us the hard stuff. If they're fighting, so are we.

I'd be lying to you if I said didn't agonize over this all day yesterday- why did I not euthanize?! How could I bring her home?! And Tösen answered me this morning, after multiple sleepless nights, vets, needle pokes, her baby absolutely driving her crazy, and her mom forcing stuff into her mouth that makes her gag. When she perked up and ran to the pellet jar when she heard the lid at 5am. Paws up on it like "come on mom open that b"😅

She still cant swallow properly so she drops the pellets and mom has to mash them with water and painstakingly hand feed slop, but my girl is fighting yall

(Tosen will start receiving her steroid treatment tonight, as long as she keeps hanging tough, for a mass in her chest. We have to wait an agonizing 48 hours after her last dose of meloxicam because of dangerous interactions)
