The ZL1 Speed Shop

Looking for highly experience mechanic in good health (preferably ASE certified) and an experienced engine rebuilder/ machinist who can read dial bore gauges and micrometers and can set up and run manual machines.

The mechanic would be used to remove and install engines from mostly GM muscle cars 1967-1972 and to perform other restoration activities and/or modifications to these same type of cars. Looking for someone who can do more than remove and install an engine but someone who could actually do some difficult things like take a dash out of a car and reinstall without breaking things or remove a door window glass and reinstall and adjust to where door panel and window would function correctly. Someone who can do these sort of things in a reasonable amount of time without needing much baby sitting.

The engine machinist would need to learn how to sandblast and clean engine blocks and cylinder heads. Bore , deck and hone engine blocks, replace guides and valve seats in heads and valve job them. Balance crank shafts and assemble engines correctly using a blue-printing system to check fitment and clearances, etc to ensure a correct functional assembly.
