Live Music on the High Trestle Trail

The City of Ankeny received a $7,500 grant from Bravo Greater Des Moines to support a new Uptown Arts project, bringing public art and live performances to Uptown and the High Trestle Trail. Programming will include a community fiber art exhibit, a temporary art installation, and live performances.

The first event, Music on the Trail, is Saturday, June 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Northwestern Trailhead, 2125 NW Irvinedale Drive, featuring live music by Levi Smith. Future music events will be held July through September.

Bravo has helped fund the Northwestern Trail Head, glow trail, High Trestle Trail Corridor Public Art Master Plan and lighting the High Trestle Trail underpass under South Ankeny Boulevard, planned for later this year.

Ride your bike or walk to the Northwestern Trailhead on Saturday, enjoy the music and experience the trail in a new way.
