Kin and Kid Photography

Last Friday, I spent the better part of my day watching the Documentary Family Awards. Seeing the submissions is such a treat and I tried not to bite all of my finger nails off as I waited to see if any of my images made it past round one. I was thrilled to see two of my photos in the 100 Days of Summer category. One was passed over quickly but I’m including it here because it’s one of my favorite images from this year. The second photo, Sylvie playing with the blinds, seemed to be a favorite of the judges. I watched in amazement as it climbed to first place in the category. Then I watched as the same photo was awarded second place overall between two amazing images. Thank you judges!

I am humbled and excited to share that two of my images placed in the Emotion category at the National Association of Professional Child Photographers Inspired Print Competition Event. A third image made it to the Top 100. Thank you to the judges, Elizabeth Blank, Kelly Berry, and BreeAnne Clowdus, and to everyone who worked so hard to make this event possible.
