🏁 Brickyard Recap 🏁

Our team stepped well outside of our comfort zone this week to try something completely new, and it did not disappoint.

The Battle of the Brickyard brought together more than 500 entries from across the country.

Carlyn competed against 42 of the best Light World Formula drivers, finishing 10th overall, while Jolene battled a field of 49 Senior Animal competitors, finishing 39th overall.

🏎️ Light World Formula
• Heat: P4 ➡️ P2 (moved to the win after an unfortunate post-race tech DQ of the winner)
• Started P4 in the A Main
• Finished P10

We gave it everything we had, but fought an ill-handling car that wanted to bike up and over every time it hit the track. We made adjustment after adjustment, but simply couldn’t get it where it needed to be. Even so, coming home with a Top 10 against a field this strong is something we’re proud of.

🏎️ Senior Animal
• Heat: P4 ➡️ P6
• G Main: Started P5 Finished P4 to transfer into the F Main
• F Main: Ran a solid race but made a small mistake and came up short of the transfer, ending our run through the lower mains.

The results weren’t quite what Jolene had hoped for, but they are respectable especially considering this was our first time competing on a flat asphalt track. The level of competition was incredible, and every lap challenged us to become better racers.

Our drivers and crew learned a tremendous amount this weekend. Sometimes the biggest victories don’t come with a trophy they come from stepping outside your comfort zone, gaining experience, and leaving better than you arrived.

It was also special to return to Indianapolis after racing here with Carlyn on dirt in 2021. Seeing both the girls get to experience kissing the bricks, taking the lap around the legendary speedway, to being part of the BC39 Petty Performance Edge festivities, making new friends, and the memories made this week will last a lifetime.

Now it’s time for a week in the shop before we get back to our roots on dirt.
