Hi! My name is Rachel Emens.

I created this page because of my granny (in the purple picutres below)
Some may not know I was adopted at 3 months old. By two grandmothers. They raised my sister and I at the ages (60-70) I know it’s crazy! They loved us more than anything.
My grandma passed 10 years ago from cancer.
Recently, my granny has been "progressing towards Jesus" I like to say that instead because it brings me peace, so feel free to steal that. While during this season of life, one of the only things that have brought me true peace was getting the last photos with her I could. Now, I know photos won't be her hand holding mine, or her advice on those hard days, and telling me to "be sweet" every time I get off the phone. But those images brought me a memory. A memory I'll forever cherish with her. It's something when she's off with Jesus, and I need to see her face with mine, just once more. To see her smile, the wisdom in her face, and to see the love she always carried for me.

Doing my favorite thing with my favorite person.

I know right now in this season I feel at peace. But I know the valley is coming. I know heartache will come, and tears will follow. I know there will be a time where I hold her hand for the last time as she goes to Jesus. But what a time to think. Her going with Jesus. Cancer will be no more. Her pain will have stopped. And she will just wait for me. Time is different in Heaven. I think when she gets there she won't have to wait long for me. But while she does, she will see the ones she loves. She will be in the arms of Jesus. But until then, I'll keep her for as long as he allows. I'll listen to her laugh and play with her dog. I'll stay in this peace until the valley comes. And when the valley comes, ill take it head-on knowing shell to be at peace waiting for me.

I ask you to spend this Christmas with your loved ones. Apologize to them if you've wronged them or not but they feel like you did. Hug their neck if you haven't. Love them fully even if you don't feel like they deserve it. Listen to their stories. Laugh at their silly jokes. And let them know how much you care for them. And lastly, remember the reason for Christmas. It was all because of a baby we get to spend eternity in heaven. ❤️
