UGA Viola Studio

Long time no see (admin are in the med school process…), here are some things the viola studio have been up to this semester! Featuring: Scheherazade concert, concerto competition, AMAZING recitals by Vic and Jensi, and two distinguished members of the studio. We have some wonderful recitals and concerts coming up, stay tuned for updates!

Our Professor Snyder was just awarded one of the highest teaching awards at UGA!! Each year, only 3 professors are selected from the entire university to receive this professorship! Happy Monday and Happy Spring! We've got a busy week with a lot of recitals so make sure to stream them if you can't make it in person. Happy Viola Friday and welcome to the UGA Violas page!! We started off the month with Prof. Snyder’s Annual Faculty Recital: Divisible! She performed new and old pieces, all divisible by 5 in some way in celebration of 105 years of Women’s Suffrage. The program included a World Premiere of a piece written by a local composer Barbra Redman! We also had an undergraduate recital by Clinton and two final DMA recitals for our graduating DMA students, Rogelio and Amaro. We’ll miss them so much!! It was a super busy week and we have many more busy weeks to come!𝄡𝄡𝄡
