I’m a problem solver who likes to anticipate what could go wrong before it does so I can already have a solution to the problem when it arises. While that can be helpful at times, 98% of the things never happen as anticipated.
As I was playing out one of those unlikely scenarios in my head, the person who I’m guessing was the problem, was saying disparaging things to me. I participated in this fake dialogue for a few seconds until it hit me that all I was doing was talking to myself.
Words have so much power that you may find yourself repeating and believing the words spoken over you, to you or by you subconsciously.
When that happens, be quick to shut down those thoughts and replace them with the truth. It seems simple, but breaking life long habits can be difficult.
Homework: Apologize to yourself for the mean things you’ve said to yourself about yourself and be kind with your words.
For the things we say that are true in part that make the thoughts sting even more- purpose to make the necessary changes and speak positively about your progress.
