I remember looking up at the summit.

The sun gate was only 1.5 miles away. It was so close…

But with that much elevation it also felt verrry far at the same time.

I remember thinking to myself “really!?”

It felt embarrassing to stop when we’d gotten to this point.

But then I remembered what we’d gained by getting that far.

This was a powerful lesson. For hikes and every other part of life.
