UPDATE: 9:30 pm 8/1: We have received $100, a crib mattress and possibly 2 twin mattresses (cross your fingers) We are still hoping for the rest. At this time, DFCS has not shown up at their door, so we can reduce the hotel down to 1 night needed tomorrow to be safe so we need another $16 plus tax for that. Then we will work toward the $180 dump fee and other items needed. (Frames and zippered mattress bags)

URGENT: the disabled family I am helping who assisted a homeless family only to end up with their guests trashing their home to the point it became a major biohazard cleanup and then had their washing machine flood from the upper level making the ceiling fall in the kitchen mid-cleanup is now facing another big bump in the road.

DFCS has been notified of the family plight and the family has been reported as not having a safe place for the kids to sleep right now. DFCS called the family today and let them know they will be coming by.

I’m going to finish the cleaning service Saturday 8/3/24, and their friends are picking up the washing machine that was generously donated from a DAME Saturday in the way to the job. Their friends are going to help clean up and repair the home with me. They are going to hang the missing Sheetrock and fix the plumbing. We are so close to making this home safe for the family to keep living in!

We had to throw out a lot. What we need now is:

1) The most immediate need: handicap accessible hotel funds for 2 nights (tonight and Friday night) = $234 (this will ensure the kids remain with the family/DFCS does not remove them.
2) $180 for 1 more load of junk removal

7) 4 twin zipable mattress cover bags

9) a contact name & number for someone who will pick up a scrap washing machine from down by Union City.
