Today, we stand proudly as South Africans—no matter where in the world we may be. On this Heritage Day, we honour the rich tapestry of our cultures, the strength of our roots, and the enduring spirit that connects us across oceans.
Like our national symbol, the Springbok, we embody resilience, adaptability, and quiet strength.
In the face of new environments and challenges, we thrive.
Whether you're in Cape Town or California, Durban or Dallas—today is a celebration of who we are, and where we come from.
Happy Heritage Day, Mzansi family. Keep the spirit alive.
Important Update for South Africans in the USA
The Embassy of South Africa in Washington, D.C. has requested that the planned Virtual Outreach Sessions this week be postponed in order to secure clear, accurate guidance from the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) and the Border Management Authority (BMA).
In the interim:
• Use the official BMA press release for travel guidance.
• SACCUSA confirms from our meeting with DHA and the Minister’s Office: South Africans will not be fined or arrested for non-compliance.
• DHA has acknowledged our concerns and is working to improve passport-related consular services.
The Embassy has assured us that a rescheduled outreach will be held soon, focusing on dual citizenship, passport requirements, and practical travel options.
