Day #6: 🍠Sweet Potatoes...
BENEFITS -
1. White potatoes are a "nightshade" making them high on the inflammatory scale. Sweet potatoes surprisingly are not nightshade plants.
2. Although sweet potatoes contain a higher natural sugar content, they actually rate LOWER on the glycemic scale. Sweet potatoes are higher in fiber contributing to a slower digestion, also slowing the conversion of sugar in the digestive tract and reducing blood sugar spikes.
