I remember recently how I was sitting in my home and crying about something that I felt I had lost. The feeling of failure hit me as I tried to make sense of what I was dealing with. While being comforted by my husband, he reminded me that we would get through this. As bad as I wanted to keep crying, the tears wouldn’t continue to flow. Not that I wasn’t hurt, not that I wasn’t triggered by childhood trauma, but NO because the Holy Spirit reminded me of when we first came to GA and how God redeemed us and everything we needed, and if HE did it before, he would do it again.
Moral to the Story:
Losing “things” does not make who you are, they identify where you are at. There is a lesson to be learned in everything and in everything there is a lesson to be learned. God reminded me that He is my redeemer and I am His child. I had to remember that having didn’t define me. Salvation does. Be encouraged.
Colossians 3:1-4 amp Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. 3 For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, [a]appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
