My new toy. As my business has grown over the past year my traditional scanners, while high end, were a little too cumbersome and I was limited to 8x10 and smaller. I am now in my camera scanning era! I get asked pretty frequently how I figure out the dates for photos that aren’t marked. As I go through a collection I learn faces & along with knowing key dates I can often pinpoint a year.
Sometimes I get lucky and there will be helpful clues in the photo such as a calendar, license plate or in this case….a TV GUIDE! Remember those?

A quick google search brought me to the TV Guide website where they have a cover archive. Based on the ages of the children I suspected this was early 80’s. I found the cover and was able to pinpoint the date down to a week!
