Do you judge books by the page count? šŸ‘€

Some parents do without even realizing it.

But here’s the truth:
More pages doesn’t mean a better book.

Especially for kids ages 4–8.

The books that actually stick—
the ones that build confidence, encourage conversations, and keep kids engaged…

They’re intentional.

They’re designed for how kids think.

And once you know what to look for,
you’ll never choose books the same way again.

That’s exactly why I created The BRIGHT Guide with input from children’s book experts like - she’s an AMAZING children’s book illustrator. The BRIGHT Guide is a simple framework to help you choose picture books your child will actually love (and learn from). No more guessing or wasted money or books that just collect dust.

Just better storytime.

A library card… but make it Penelope of course! šŸ‘“šŸ“š

It’s National Library Week, and I have to highlight someone special—my local librarian.

Yes… the one in the bear papier-mĆ¢chĆ© mask. 🐻

These photos were from a school’s Book Character Day event in Atlanta a while ago, and let me tell you- it was HOT that day but she still wore the mask—just to make it a fun experience for the kids. That’s the kind of dedication that makes kids fall in love with books. I’ve personally learned so much from watching her bring stories to life.

A library card might seem small…
but it opens the door to something much bigger.

Stories. Imagination. Confidence.

This week especially, I’m grateful for librarians—they go above and beyond to make reading feel alive and meaningful for kids.

I’ve seen it firsthand. And it’s powerful.

Confidence looks good on her. šŸ‘“āœØ

Meet Penelope — the story and the reminder your child didn’t know they needed.

šŸ’› A book that teaches positive self-talk and resilience
šŸ’› A doll that brings those lessons to life beyond storytime

Because building confident kids doesn’t stop when the book closes.

If you’re intentional about what your child reads, plays with, and believes about themselves… this is for you.

Cheers to for the amazing photos!
