And honestly? I didn’t think anyone would respond.
But what happened in those comments stopped me in my tracks. 💛
Page after page. Spread after spread. Stories that blew me away. You didn’t just show up. You showed OUT.
To every author who shared a page from their heart — I see you.
To every illustrator who shared the art that brought a story to life — I see you.
What you did in those comments doesn’t happen every day.
And I don’t take that lightly.

As the ALA Conference comes to a close, someone picked up a Penelope doll for their little one and Penelope is officially headed to Doha, Qatar. 🌍
I don’t take lightly the fact that the Penelope doll is crossing oceans and finding her way into the hands of a child thousands of miles away.
She started in the Bronx. Now she’s heading to Qatar. 🦋
Every child deserves to see a character who looks like her and reminds her that hard things are just things she can’t do YET.
To everyone who has purchased, gifted, shared, and shouted about Penelope — thank you for helping her travel this far. 🦋
