At Mycologic, innovation meets mycology… and in this case ecology too. We’re excited to share how our semi-automated fruiting module is advancing fungal research on invasive species substrates.

Gowin Valley Farms, known for its research collaborations and to agricultural waste research with Kennesaw State University, is now supporting a University of Tennessee at Chattanooga master’s student who is completing thesis work using our fruiting module at their farm.

His focus? Bradford pear mushroom cultivation—a novel approach that not only repurposes this highly invasive species but is showing promising results. Early findings suggest mushrooms grown on this invasive species substrate are outpacing growth on standard master’s mix!

We’re proud that the Mycologic system is contributing to a deeper understanding of sustainable cultivation and ecological solutions through fungi.
