The Search for Reality

COMMON SENSE: When Russia launched a massive missile and air attack on Kiev, Ukraine, last week, many were surprised, including President Trump. He even said that he was and that he was very unhappy about it.

Being the largest assault of its kind in the three-year war, the magnitude and devastation of it is what surprised so many, but they shouldn’t have been. It was predictable and should have been expected.

Here’s why. The attack on Kiev came just days after the USA successfully destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. Our B-2 attack was so effective that the military prestige of the United States was enhanced worldwide. Everybody, except for the Democrats and the media, has been in awe of our capabilities ever since. It has put friends and foes on notice that the USA is back in business.

Our allies were so impressed that NATO nations didn’t balk at increasing their military budgets from 2 percent of GDP to 5 percent, when President Trump insisted that they must.

The Axis of Evil—Russia, China, Iran and North Korea—being our primary global adversaries, were deeply disturbed by what we were capable of achieving. From their perspective, such success was a threat to their goal of global dominance. It called for a military response to show how capable they were. However, instead of responding to the USA with an attack on us, which would have initiated World War III, they took it out on Ukraine, with Russia launching a massive military strike on the Ukraine’s capital. There is a point to this. To understand what is happening in international politics, you must recognize that nothing is done in a vacuum. Nothing is an isolated incident. Everything is connected. To be aware of what is going on in the world, you must recognize and understand the connections. That Iran was seriously damaged by our attack called for large scale damage to be inflicted against a USA proxy. Sadly, for the Ukrainians, they were the easiest, most likely target. That’s why Putin hit them as hard as he did. In a non-nuclear way, that attack was to demonstrate to the USA and to NATO how much damage the Axis of Evil was capable of inflicting.

MY RECOVERY PRAYER: Father,
I do not simply believe I have been mistreated,
I know I have been mistreated, and You know
I have been wronged as well.

Rehashing my drama repeatedly in my mind,
But it’s going to be difficult to put it aside.
I didn’t realize I had drifted so far from You.
I didn’t consider how willful I had become,
But now I do. It becomes clearer to me each day.
I have blamed others for my plight for so long,
That resentment seems normal—even comfortable.
This frightens me for what lies ahead in life.
Show me how to find my way back to You.
Because, without Your active, healing guidance,
My life will never again amount to anything of value,
