The Smell of Appalachia 🚬 Out now!

Photos from Jenovax Lilith's post 06/27/2025

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of opening up an email from an artist named Perrin Marie asking if I'd like to be involved in a self-portrait concept centered around their new project. I'm honored to have been asked, and this is one of my favorite self-portraifs to date.

I'm currently making an impromptu trip up to North Carolina to see this piece in person (as well as my 2nd House of Hoopla self-portrait) before the tour of all of the pieces comes to an end on June 30th. If you are around NC and want to check out unique, political, impactful, artistic works from some local artists, please check out the House of Hoopla page or & website for more information on the location of all 15 pieces.

Thank you again, Perrin, for this wonderful opportunity.

“Taking up space as an outspoken artist fighting for change becomes more crucial—and more sacred—with each passing day in today’s climate.

I was drawn to this project not only for the chance to work alongside like-minded independent artists, but for the political relevance of these wearable statements: to be heard, to be noticed, to be seen—and to demand it.

In my ‘underwater’ self-portrait, I wanted to capture that urgency with something visually captivating—something that forces the viewer to look deeper.

I also find beauty in upcycling. I love that these designs come from what others might call trash or mundane materials. ”

The City of Angels.

I've only been to L.A. and California in general twice, but it definitely left a mark on my heart. These photos are kinda silly, but they're the closest ones I modeled for near the city, and I wish I could be there physically rather than just safely watching from afar. But just know that many of us on the other side of the coast, on other sides of the world, are marching and pushing back right with you.

The Angels make L.A. and this country.

The next big national protest is scheduled for June 14th. I'll be working a wedding, so I hope each and every single one of you that is free decides to take up space for me and for us all. Follow for more updates.
