Here's a message to all of you over 40. If an Indian guy calls from "Microsoft" to tell you that your computer is messed up, it's a scam. Try asking him what his actual company name is, or a return phone number, or even his name. Refusing to let him in, he will get agitated and possibly call you dumb. In the case that you do let him in, he's going to lock down all of your files with a password so that you can't even get on your computer or retreive the data without paying $300-$400. Just an FYI. Oh, and I can fix this if it has happened to you or someone you know.

So... Some Indian dude just called my mom claiming to be with some Windows support company. They convinced her to allow them access to her computer, then offered to protect it for $199.
