The incoming New Year is a time to reflect and make changes to push ourselves forward. 2022 has brought us some unique and heart-wrenching challenges... we have taken on unexpected medical cases that have led us to narrow our focus and ensure we are able to provide the full care our rescue dogs deserve.
We recently lost our sweet Liza...a devastating loss not only because her outcome could have been prevented if someone just cared enough to help her sooner, but because she was thrown into our care with severe medical issues and a broken spirit. We soon realized she had little hope. Her jaw had deteriorated significantly due to cancer. There was no option to fix the wrong. All we could do was beg the community to care and give her more time in loving hands. We knew diagnostics and vet visits alone would cost thousands, but we had to remain hopeful. So, we begged for support...for which we received minimal. We begged for a miracle...for which was unlikely. We begged for a system to change...for which keeps ignoring the suffering. And in the end, we begged for peace. We held her through it all and our hearts are shattered. Liza is just one of many of neglect cases we were called too late to help. But how do we stop trying? How do we get the community to care and extend a helping hand?
To continue, we must make changes in 2023 and WE WILL. We encourage you JOIN US and just change ONE spending habit a month and put it towards saving these deserving dogs.
