Everyone tells you not to get too attached to a geriatric street cat, but I didn’t listen. Little Stripes was the love of my life from the day she walked into the studio. She was my right-hand lady and having her around the last year and a half made the roughest days (of which there have been far far too many) bearable. I told her how much I loved her dozens of times a day and told her how much I’d miss her every time I left the studio. Queen of the street cats, she’d been in the neighborhood a solid decade and the neighbors all knew her. Some tried to take her in over the years, but she never went for domestication until she chose us to be her people. Within a week, she was named Employee of the Month - and has held the title since. We had to say our final goodbyes last week - and while my heart is broken, I know that we were both so incredibly lucky to have found each other when we did.
