Just a simple food blog by a husband and wife who really enjoy food and talking about food. We go on lots of adventures and would love to talk about them!

Myself (Josh) and the wife (Amanda) visited the Ice martini bar in downtown Woodstock Ga on 8/12/17.
Ice is a martini bar hence the name, they also serve sushi and tapas plates.

Atmosphere-
It was a pretty place with good decor. It has a romantic vibe which would be good for a date night or casual gathering.

Staff-
The staff was attentive. However our waitress showed a little to much skin, which made it akward as she leaned on a chair to chat with us.

Drinks-
They have a decent martini menu maybe around 20 different drinks. I would have expected more being a martini bar. The theme of the menu was sweet. All the martinis minus 2 or 3 were sweet, very sweet.
I had a sweet blue drink and asked for no sugar on the rim which is how it was listed on the menu. It was sweet, but I think the sugar rim would have been to much.
My wife had a Dirty Blue martini which is a regular dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. It was decent but I don't believe they use vermouth because there was no dryness to the drink. That might be a personal preference.

Food-
We decided to stick with tapas plates because we weren't feeling sushi.
First- We has the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers with cranberry cream cheese. I know this sounds crazy but there was two much bacon! They wrapped a full strip of bacon around half a jalapeno, which ended with raw bacon in the center. Plus, you couldn't taste the pepper or stuffing in anyway.
Second- we had the steak sliders with grilled onions on an hawaiian roll. The steak was very sweet which mixed with red onions on the hawaiian roll made for a overly sweet almost dessert like meal. It also had a weird salad on the plate which didn't enhance the meal in anyway.
Third- We had the truffel mac and cheese. It was a nice looking plate. The first couple bites were good, then the garlic kicked in and it became very over powering. The noodles were also overcooked which made it very mushy.
Fourth- I had a bowl of Miso soup which was very good, but lets be honest how hard is it to make miso soup lol.

Overall-
The plates were pretty, but semi unenjoyable. The drinks were limited and far to sweet. The restuarant was nice but nothing overly memoriable.
Would we return?
No. Nothing was enjoyable enough to bring us back.
