Coffee… but give it superpowers ☕️✨
I love my morning coffee. It’s a ritual for me. The smell... the taste... even the two “slow” minutes I spend making it. There’s something about it that signals it’s time to get ready to take on the day. I’m not even that affected by caffeine (my 23andMe confirmed this lol) - it’s more about the ritual.
I’m also a maximizer… so I like to get some bang for my buck ;)
Here’s what I add to my morning brew:
1️⃣ Collagen: to support joints, skin, hair, and nails (especially helpful in this postpartum season with some “fun” side effects, ha).
2️⃣ Creatine: for muscle strength and recovery. (It’s not just for bodybuilders like I used to think 😉)
3️⃣ And I’ll usually add a few tablespoons of canned organic coconut milk () for a creamy, dairy-free vibe that keeps me fuller longer.
I used to throw all these supplements into a daily smoothie… but I recently broke up with my blender. More on that another day 😅
For now, this is my simple way to fuel my mornings in a balanced way.
Coffee is a surprisingly great base for most supplements. Using it this way has helped me a ton - maybe it’ll help you too. ☕️
🍒 SQUISHIES (aka Healthy Jello!) 🍒
This super simple, FUN, protein-packed treat is loved by our whole family!
Our amazing long-time nanny graced our fam with this recipe and now it’s one of our go-tos.
It’s easy, delicious, and good for growing bodies (and ours too!)!
My 5yo LOVES helping make these, and honestly… I love having a bowl in the fridge for an easy grab-and-go snack. 🙌
INGREDIENTS:
• 1.5 cups juice
• 5 scoops/tbsp grass-fed gelatin
• 2 tbsp honey
• Pinch of salt
DIRECTIONS:
1️⃣ Add juice to a pot (don’t turn the stove on yet 😁).
2️⃣ Sprinkle gelatin over the top and let it “bloom” for a few minutes until dissolved (stir if needed)
3️⃣ Turn heat to medium and warm until the mixture turns to liquid. Stir along the way.
4️⃣ Remove from heat and stir in honey + salt.
5️⃣ Pour into a baking dish and let cool in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
6️⃣ Slice, pull apart, and enjoy! Stores in the fridge up to 2 weeks.
